Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect the minimum we need to run the experience, we never sell your information, and you can ask us to delete anything we have about you at any time.
What we collect
Former email list: if you signed up for our launch list before it closed, we still hold the email and (optional) name you gave us, received via Formspree and stored in our inbox. We no longer collect new signups.
Bookings: our booking provider, FareHarbor, collects the information needed to confirm and run your session. That data is governed by FareHarbor's own privacy policy, not this one. FareHarbor may report booking events (never your payment details) to our Google Analytics so we can see which pages and ads lead to bookings.
Site analytics and advertising: Cloudflare Web Analytics is always on and cookie-less — it records aggregate page views, referrers, and rough geography without identifying you or fingerprinting your device. We also use Google Analytics and the Google Ads tag. They set cookies and share usage data with Google so we can understand how the site is used, measure which of our ads lead to visits and bookings, and show our ads to people who have visited the site. You can turn this off at any time by choosing “Decline” on our cookie banner (or “Cookie Choices” in the footer); after that, both run in a restricted, cookie-less mode in your browser.
Referral codes: if you arrive via a referral URL (for example, from Hotel Bellwether), we store the code in your browser's session storage so we can credit the partner. The code does not identify you personally and is cleared when you close the tab.
How we use it
We use the information we collect to confirm and run your sessions, understand how the site is being used so we can improve it, measure and improve our advertising on Google, and credit partners who refer guests. We never sell or rent your data.
Cookies and tracking
Google Analytics and the Google Ads tag set first-party cookies
(such as _ga and _gcl_au) to recognize
repeat visits and connect ad clicks with visits and bookings, and
Google may use its own cookies to measure and personalize ads. If
you choose “Decline” on our cookie banner — or later through
“Cookie Choices” in the footer — we switch Google Analytics and
Google Ads to a cookie-less mode for that browser. Cloudflare Web
Analytics never uses cookies. See
how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Separately, your browser stores small amounts of local data on your device (your consent choice, referral code, and cached weather and water temperature) to make the site work. This stays with you and is not transmitted to us.
Third parties
We rely on a small set of services to operate. Each has its own privacy practices:
Formspree — holds signups from our former email
list.
FareHarbor — handles bookings and payments.
Cloudflare — hosts the site and provides
cookie-less analytics.
Google — provides Google Analytics and Google Ads
(advertising and ad measurement). You can opt out via our cookie
banner. Governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Open-Meteo — supplies the current weather and
bay water temperature shown in our nav. No personal data is
sent.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to tell you what data we have about you, correct anything inaccurate, delete your records (subject to bookkeeping obligations for completed transactions), or remove you from our former email list. Email cohosaunas@icloud.com and we'll take care of it.
Children's privacy
Our services are intended for adults and older minors. Guests under 12 are not permitted on the boat. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business evolves. The "last updated" date below reflects any change.
